Florence and The Machine - Dog days are over
- First thing, Florence does not come from Florence (in Tuscany), she comes from London - even though her mother is a Harvard-educated Professor of Renaissance Studies and Academic Dean of Arts at Queen Mary University of London (that somehow could be connected the Tuscan Florence). So Florence and the Machine is the recording name of Florence Leontine Mary Welch.
- Second: “The name Florence and the Machine started off as a private joke that got out of hand. I made music with my friend, who we called Isabella Machine to which I was Florence Robot. When I was about an hour away from my first gig, I still didn’t have a name, so I thought -Okay, I’ll be Florence Robot is a Machine-, before realizing that name was so long it’d drive me mad” (source wikipedia)
- Third: I wonder why she decided to make a new version of this video, I liked the one before way more than this.
- Last but not least Florence and the Machine will be in Italy this summer, unfortunatly no shows in Tuscany so far…only Milan and Rome.
That’s a shame: “Florence and the Machine live show from Florence” would have sounded quite funny :)”
